I with you I love shooting the large format and I am happy to see anyone using/talking about the techinque. I saw part of Taryn's work in the Times and other pieces here and there around town. Great concept!! I think she is onto something exciting and interesting. That being said I don't think it deserves a show at the Whitney. It lacks craftsmenship, has the look and formal qualities more of a sketchbook study than of a complete project. I just finished reading this article on Gursky (another large formatist) in Modern Painter called "In Praise of Blandness" ........maybe Taryn could use a little more of that....
